A two-bedroom property set beside Willunga Creek on the Fleurieu Peninsula and a short walk from the ocean. Designed for solo travellers and couples. The kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking, the living room fills with natural light, and the outdoor kitchen garden changes quietly with the seasons.
Designed by Mountford Williamson Architects, nothing at Ukiyo House is accidental — and some of it is excessive in the best possible way. French linen bedding, Ergoflex mattresses, and a pillow selection that got slightly out of hand (one of the owners is a physio). Woollen blankets from Waverley Mills. A rainhead shower with a water blade, plus an outdoor shower with hot water for good measure.
The gin bar is stocked with Never Never, tonic, and garnishes sourced from the Fleurieu. Riedel glassware. Koi knives. A Nespresso machine, gourmet teas and handmade ceramic mugs. Prefer the house alcohol-free? Just ask.
Outside, a kayak, Finska, board games, puzzles and a beach cart ready to go and the ocean is around the corner.
